Keeping in Touch
Our American soldiers are serving selflessly for all of us, and I've been blessed to connect with women across the United States who are selflessly serving our soldiers! We make cards for our heroes to write home on—all occasion, thinking of you, birthday, miss you, love . . . and they get shipped to me (or to their own soldier contacts) and I package them up for my contacts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Korea.
This is a great way to empty your stash of cards you've made for all those blog challenges out there—please consider donating them to this worthy cause, and help our heroes stay in touch with their loved ones back home!
This is the current shipment that goes out this week—300 cards! Many thanks to all the cardmakers who have contributed to these boxes over the last month!
If you'd like to help out, email me at colour16@comcast.net and I'll send you the details. This is a separate project from Operation: Quiet Comfort that I posted about recently; OQC cards go to injured soldiers and have thank-you and get-well messages written on them, and the cards above go to deployed soldiers so they have something to write home on!
Note: You can also sign up for your own soldier contacts at Anysoldier's website—you can find someone from your area, or someone in a country you want to send to, or find someone listing a need you'd like to fill!
