LA LA LA LA LA

Have you ever had to plug your ears, squinch your eyes, sing LA LA LA LA really loud, and push through something obsessing your brain? I am trying to get raccoons out of my mind's eye---and I made some pretty lame cards for a while. Til I decided to start CASE-ing someone else as a remedy for mojolessness.

And who's my go-to person to CASE? Why Amy over at Pickled Papers of course! If you haven't been following her, GO! Before you look here, go! :) She's awesomely talented.

This first one is okay but was a warm up (lol)...the papers had the same colors, but I think trying to do so many wild patterns was something that I pushed way too far! But....the troops should still be ok with it. I have a request from a newly deployed chaplain in Iraq, and wanted to get some generic-winter cards in the box, since it's too late to expect holiday ones to get there in time to write home on; so you'll be seeing a few winter ones in the next few days while I get his box topped off with a few of these.

And on this card I think I "hit my stride"...it's another CASE of Amy, but I could just feel the surge of inspiration slap me upside my head! lol. I just love the layering of papers she did, the buttons, and it was a perfect design to house this square image that I'd had no idea what to do with. I distressed the papers before putting them down....and as always had to peel the paper back up to put the ribbon on (does anyone else forget to do that before adhering your paper? Ack!)
And here's a little one of my own mojo. I did steal Amy's triple knot idea, she uses it so well...I tried small polkadotted ribbon for the knots, which I'm not sure I like as much as hers. Live 'n learn eh? The snowflake is a button (I punched a hole in the popped paper so the back of the button didn't need to be clipped.)

So now it's time for my other task of the day: NAP! Then Bible study tonight. But the nap is a must. After being up so late last night with Mr Coon, I'm wiped! (And besides, while on vacation, daily naps are a promise to myself I intend to keep!)
